Question: Makeup for A Black Marie Antoinette?
I have never really done anything special for hollween so this year my friends and I are trying to do it big. I have already decided I want to be a Black version of Marie Antoinette
I have found an outfit that was originally meant to be a Southern Belle costume and decided to soup it up with a wig, fan, thigh highs etc....The question is how can I do my makeup so that people can actually "get" who I am supposed to be?
Here is the costume I am ordering ....Do you think I'll pass as Marie?

Answer: Well, thank heaven's you have the wig! I do not know your shade of black, but try a lipstick that is a mix between coral and magenta, wear a significant amount of orange- red, if you have dark skin, or reddish pink, if you're lighter, or true pink, if you're really light, blush as a dot on each cheek, unless you can get some pretty pink makeup that shows up fully and shimmery on any skin tone. Ah, and if you want/can, try some blue-green contacts.
If you were going to parody Marie Antoinette, try putting on white foundation, of which she herself and countless other white women used, and then doing the makeup as you see in one of her many pics.
If you act a bit airheaded, and a little haughty and higher-than-thou, someone will get it, which means that you should utilize the "let them eat cake" line.
Happy Halloween and Good Luck!

Question: what should I wear to my semi-formal?
My semi-formal for school is this year, & each year at my school it's fancy dress which means thinking up costumes.
Some people already have good ideas. I was thinking of going Marie Antoinette style in a pouffy dress. I don't want to hire a costume because if I do there's bound to be someone there in the same thing.
Any original & funny ideas? (I'm generally the person everyone can count on for something funny / outrageous, but I'm totally stuck for ideas here!)
thanks so much.
ps. i can sew, so anything is a goer..
Answer: Why not do a modern day Juliet? And find someone to be your Romeo? Something like West Side Story meets Shakespeare, with a little funny twist to it.
Okay, I'm biased, because I LOVE Romeo&Juliet.
