Question: Why Did Marie Antoinette Say Let Them Eat Cake?
Answer: Yes, it's because the people were starving and couldnt afford any bread. However the irony (and hatefulness) of the statement is the fact that if they couldn't afford bread, they CERTAINLY couldn't afford cake.
Random Trivia, the French called Marie Antoinette L'Autrichienne, which is french for "The Austrian" with emhpasis on the CHIENNE syllable... which came out something like "The Austrian Bit*h"

Marie Antoinette Cake Recipe

Question: What did Marie Antoinette eat?
So one of my biggest hobbies is studying and admiring everything about Marie Antoinette.. another hobby is cooking.
BUT, I have looked and looked and cannot find any recipes about what she ate!
I've found like violet tea, a type of cake, and one other thing.. but that's it.. I would like more.. and not just sweets... beverages, main dishes, desserts are good too but I don't want just those.
Recipesssss please!

Answer: On BBC2 a few weeks I watched Supersizers eat.. and it was all about the French Revolution. Its a series with Giles Cohen and Sue Perkins and every week they try food from different eras. They did stuff all about her and they tried the recipes etc Try find that on internet. It was really good and a hour long
