Question: Have you ever noticed in the Movie Marie Antoinette....?

I just want to see how many people noticed this, I've seen the movie dozens of times, and I haven't noticed until just now:

- In the shoe sequence [I Want Candy] there's a pair of purple modern high tops??? Why are those there???

- During the scene at Petit Trainon (when she invites people to her mini-opera) and when they're honoring the soilders (when she comes in with flowers) Kirsten Dunst has pinkish tinted hair!? Is there a purpose for that???

Answer: The director, Sophie Coppola, wanted to put the converses in to show that Marie Antoinette was a normal teenage girl and the style back then was to tint your wig to match your outfit.

Question: Marie Antoinette Quote?

Did Marie Antoinette really say "Let them eat cake." or was that propoganda? If she did when did she say it and why? Thanks!

Answer: NO
We're not entirely sure who said "Let them eat cake," but we can tell you that it wasn't Marie Antoinette. This flippant phrase about consuming pastry is commonly attributed to the frivolous queen in the days leading up to the French Revolution. Supposedly, she spoke these words upon hearing how the peasantry had no bread to eat. But biographers and historians have found no evidence that Marie uttered these words or anything like them.
