The role of Count Axel von Fersen in the Marie Antoinette Movie was played by Jamie Dornan. Count Axel von Fersen or Count Hans Axel Fersen was supposedly Marie Antoinette' s lover. In the Marie Antoinette Movie, Marie Antoinette, played by Kirsten Dunst, had several love affairs with Count Axel von Fersen whom she was attracted to from the start. In history, however, it was thought that the relationship between Count Axel von Fersen and Marie Antoinette was just friendship, not lover.
