Question: Does anyone have information or know where I can find any information about the Dark Countess?
So far, all I have been able to find is that it is believed she may have been the real Madame Royale, the oldest child and daughter of France's Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette and that she may have been switched with her illegitamite half-sister to cover a possible rape and pregnancy. If anyone can give me more info about her or give me a website where I can research her, I would really appreciate it.
Answer: I've heard of the Dark Countess but haven't read much about her. I've researched a bit about her on the internet, and it seems the most informative book to read is Susan Nagel's " Marie-Therese, Child Of Terror: The Fate Of Marie Antoinette's Daughter".
There are some links below you may find interesting. I'm not sure myself about the substitution theory; whenever a young prince/princess dies in mysterious circumstances, there always seems to be an "impostor" or "pretender" who emerges, like Anastasia, or Edward V, or even Madame Royale's brother.
