Question: Symbols of Marie Antoinette?
I'm doing a project on her after reading Marie Antoinette's biography, and I need visual symbols of her. Meaning, I can't use pictures of her or something, I need to go "outside the box." Did she have any infamous jewelry or ways of life? Anything that someone has a picture of or that I can draw up? I was going to put a cake, for her "Let them eat cake!" quote but I don't really understand the meaning of it so maybe if someone could explain that, would be helpful. Also, I was thinking of maybe a crown like one of these: ♔ ♕ ♚ ♛ but I don't think she wore a crown, or maybe there's like some family symbol of hers? I don't know.. I just need help!
Answer: I was going to suggest that cake, but you could try the famous diamond necklace that landed her in so much trouble, or perhaps the fleur de lys of Fance's royal family possibly together with the Austrian double eagle.
That cake story is probably not true, anyway, just some slander.
