Question: A good book about Marie Antoinette?
At the moment I am reading Marie Antoinette: The Journey by Antonia Fraser and I want to know what to read next.
Yes, it is a biography.
Answer: I was just about to recommend that book before I read the details and found out you had already read it. I read that book too, and love it. In all honesty, it's probably the best Marie Antoinette Biography out there. Everything else kind of falls flat in comparison.
However, there is a book about her only surviving child, Marie Therese, that I'm reading now that you might be interested in. It's called Marie Therese, Child of Terror: The Fate of Marie Antoinette's Daughter. I warn you, it's not nearly as well written as Antonia Fraser's novel. However, it is probably one of the only biographies about Marie Antoinette's daughter, and gives a lot of great information about her life and experiences after the French Revolution.
