Question: Does anyone know any princesses who got married at a young age and became queen of a country?
I was just wondering if anyone knew of any young princess (11-17 in Europe who lived during the 1500's-1700's) who got married and became queen at a young age,other than Marie Antoinette. This isn't a school assignment, I am just interested in that time period. If anyone knows anything interesting please tell me.
If you could give more information about the backgrounds of the various people that would be great.
Answer: Mary, Queen of Scots. Though she was already Queen of Scotland as an infant, she married the French Dauphin, and became Queen of France as well.
Though it's a little later than your time period, the life of the Empress Josephine, wife of Napoleon, is a fascinating one.
There is a novel called "Desiree" which gives the life of Queen Desiree of Sweden, who was a merchant's daughter, married a Marshal of France, and became Crown Princess of Sweden.
